Biography
Dr. Hartge has conducted epidemiologic research at the NCI since 1977 and has published 250 scientific reports. She has been the deputy director of the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Program since 1996. Dr. Hartge received her B.A. from Radcliffe College, her M.A. in economics from Yale University, and her Sc.D. in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. She studies the etiology of lymphoma and cancers of the pancreas, ovary, breast and brain, and has published extensively on epidemiologic methods. She co-founded the lymphoma consortium InterLymph in 2001. She previously served as the assistant editor of the American Journal of Public Health, on the Editorial Board of Epidemiology, on the Governing Council of the American Public Health Administration, and on the Board of Directors of the American College of Epidemiology. She now serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Epidemiology, and as an adjunct professor at George Washington University. She has chaired the NCI Cohort Consortium from 2006 through 2009.
