Biography

Dr. Mirabello received her Bachelor's of Science degree in animal science and pre-medicine at Cornell University in 1999. She completed work for her Master's of Science degree in experimental pathology at New York Medical College in 2003. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a focus on molecular population genetics at the School of Public Health, State University of New York at Albany in 2007. Her thesis work was conducted at the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center on the molecular population genetics of the malaria vector Anopheles darlingi using mitochondrial, nuclear, and microsatellite markers. Dr. Mirabello joined the Clinical Genetics Branch in September 2007 as a post-doctoral Cancer Genetics Research Fellow, and her primary mentor is Dr. Sharon Savage.

Research Interests

Her major research interests are human cancer genetics, genomic bioinformatics, and genetic association studies of cancer risk and outcome.
