NIH Committee Service
Branch staff are active on NIH, NCI and DCEG committees:
- Dr. Brinton chairs the DCEG Hormone Laboratory Advisory Committee and the Office of Education Advisory Group. She is also a member of the AARP Study Management Team and the AARP Steering Committee and the DCEG Senior Advisory Group.
- Dr. Cook is a member of the Barrett’s Esophagus and Esophageal Adenocarcinoma Consortium (BEACON).
- Dr. Cook serves on the Steering Committee of the Asian Barrett’s Esophagus Consortium (ABC).
- Dr. Dallal serves on the DCEG Committee of Scientists, a group previously chaired by Dr. McGlynn.
Dr. Gierach serves on the Hormone Laboratory Advisory Committee and the NCI Women’s Health Activities Committee. She is also a member of the NIH Intramural Program on Research on Women’s Health Steering Committee.
- Dr. McGlynn is chair of the Technology Transfer Committee, co-chair of the USMCI Epidemiology Steering Committee, and is the DCEG WSA Representative-elect.
- Drs. Brinton, Sherman and Gierach are members of the NCI Breast Cancer Stamp Act Steering Committee.
- Dr. Wentzensen serves on the CGEMS Data Access Committee (DAC) and is a member of the PLCO ovarian subcommittee.
Consortial Group Memberships and National and International Committees and Advisory Groups
HREB senior scientists are active members of a variety of consortial groups and are involved with providing support to a number of national and international committees and advisory groups:
- Dr. Figueroa and Dr. Sherman are active members of the Breast Cancer Association Consortium.
- Dr. Gierach is an active member of the DENSNP and Marker Of DEnsity (MODE) Consortia on the genetics of mammographic density.
- Dr. McGlynn is a founding member of the Testicular Cancer Consortium (TECAC).
- Dr. Brinton chairs the Steering Committee for Oxford University’s Collaborative Group on Epidemiological Studies of Female Cancers.
- Dr. Brinton served on the American Association for Cancer Research Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Awards Committee.
- Dr. Brinton is a member of the Gynecology Oncology Group’s Cancer Prevention and Control Subcommittee.
- Dr. Wentzensen is a member of the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium.
- Dr. Wentzensen is on the Steering Committee of the Ovarian Cancer Cohort Consortium.
- Dr. Wentzensen is a member of the Cochrane Gynaecological Cancer Review Group, section “Prevention of Cervical Cancer.”
- Dr. Wentzensen is a member of the Practice Improvement in Cervical Screening and Management (PICSM) Committee.
- Dr. Wentzensen is member of the International Scientific Committee of the International Papillomavirus Conference 2011.
- Dr. Wentzensen is faculty member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Biennial Meeting 2012.
- Dr. Yang and Dr. Wentzensen are members of the Epidemiology of Endometrial Cancer Consortium.
