An international case-control study of lymphoma among Chinese in Eastern Asia (AsiaLymph) has been launched to replicate and extend recent and novel observations made in studies among Caucasians in a population that is distinctly different with regard to patterns of key environmental and occupational risk factors and genetic loci. It is employing next-generation occupational exposure modules, combined with historical exposure measurements on key exposures and state-of-the-art genomics. It will be the first large-scale study (3,000 cases, 3,000 controls) to have central immunostaining and pathology review to enhance the ability to accurately study subtype-specific effects.
