Administrative Coordinator (Contractor)

Position Description

We are seeking an administrative coordinator to join the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB) of the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The administrative coordinator provides much-needed administrative and scientific support, such as performing tasks for purchasing and travel-related matters, as well as meeting coordination and tracking. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as a working knowledge of procurement, purchasing, and administrative systems.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Procurements and purchasing
  • Travel planning and coordination
  • Property and shipping coordination
  • Personnel and fellowship program management
  • Meeting coordination and tracking
  • Meeting minutes/summary reports

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in the general business field or related to health and medical administrative services and/or at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Software knowledge of most of the following: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, WebEx, Endnote, PubMed literature search, ITAS, NBS, or POTS.

Preferred

  • The ideal candidate will be looking to perform administrative and scientific support tasks and utilize and expand their skillset within CGB over the next several years. While experience is a plus, it is not necessary.

Additional information

This is a contract position, not a government position. All compensation and benefits will be provided through the contracting company.
