Burak Altintas, M.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Burak Altintas earned his M.D. from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, in 2018. He joined the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2019. His research interests include pediatric hematological malignancies and cancer predisposition syndromes, including inherited bone marrow failure syndromes and RASopathies, as well as immunodeficiency syndromes.

Dr. Altintas is working with Sharon Savage, M.D., Chief and senior investigator, and Lisa McReynolds, M.D., Ph.D., assistant clinical investigator, to investigate genotype-phenotype associations in patients with Fanconi anemia participating in CGB clinical studies and characterization of somatic mutations in patients with inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. He plans to do a pediatric residency after his time at the NCI.
