Lubna Hossain joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch in September 2021. Ms. Hossain earned a B.S. in public health from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining DCEG, she conducted research on biotransformation and toxicity of environmental pollutants. She also worked on a clinical trial evaluating the effects of a community intervention on caregiver burden for individuals newly diagnosed with Alzheimer disease and related dementias.
In DCEG, Ms. Hossain investigates tissue biomarkers of risk, progression, and survival in breast cancer using computational patho-epidemiology, under the mentorship of Mustapha Abubakar, Ph.D., research fellow, and Gretchen Gierach, Ph.D., Chief and senior investigator.
