Orestis Panagiotou Receives Kuan-Teh Jeang Scholar Award

In September 2015, Orestis Panagiotou, M.D., Ph.D., was awarded the Kuan-Teh Jeang Scholar Award from the NIH Virology Interest Group for his outstanding abstract “Effect of bivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination on pregnancy outcomes: Long-term observational follow-up in the Costa Rica HPV Vaccine Trial.” Dr. Panagiotou was honored at the NIH Research Festival during the NIH Fellows Awards for Research Excellence ceremony.

This award, given by the Virology Interest Group, was established in remembrance of Kuan-Teh Jeang, M.D., Ph.D., an accomplished virologist and chief of the Molecular Virology Section of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology.
