Current Fellows in the Laboratory of Genetic Susceptibility
Hanaisa Sant Anna, Ph.D. – Postdoctoral Fellow

Hanaisa Sant Anna, Ph.D., joined the Laboratory of Genetic Susceptibility (LGS) in June 2020 as a postdoctoral fellow. She has experience in genomics of admixed populations and has developed award-winning research on historical inferences and biomedical implications of human diversity. Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Sant Anna worked in Dr. Eduardo Tarazona’s lab in Brazil and Dr. David Balding’s lab in Australia. In DCEG, she will be working with Stephen J. Chanock, M.D., Director, on understanding the underlying population genetics that contribute to susceptibility to COVID-19 and the severity of disease progression. In addition, she will be conducting research in bioinformatics related to chromosomal alterations in sarcomas.
