Spatial Power: Estimate Statistical Power of Spatial Clusters

Statistical power is used to determine if a proposed study will yield accurate and valid inferences. Spatial Power is a suite of web-based applications designed to perform power calculations of spatial statistics easily and efficiently, to support accurate study design for cancer epidemiology studies. Using an intuitive graphical user interface, investigators can input proposed study parameters such as numbers of cases, numbers of controls, study area, etc. Based on those inputs, Spatial Power calculates the statistical power to detect spatial clusters.  

How it Works

All statistical power calculations within Spatial Power are performed using simulation-based modules, such as the sparrpowR module. See the Spatial Power Manual for details about each available module, user inputs, and available outputs. In addition, the sparrpowR module package is available on the Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN) for more advanced features.
