Sarah A. Phillips, B.A., joined DCEG as a Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) fellow in the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB) in August 2023. Ms. Phillips earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in global public health with a minor in bioethics in 2020 from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Prior to joining DCEG, Ms. Phillips completed her third year of medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk. Her previous research experience involves cancer prevention, patient-reported outcomes, and digital health monitoring. 

In CGB, Ms. Phillips is evaluating markers for cervical cancer in self-collected specimens as well as polygenic risk scores for ovarian cancer, under the mentorship of Nicolas Wentzensen, M.D., Ph.D., M.S., Deputy Director and senior investigator.
