Case-control Study of Cutaneous Melanoma
DCEG investigators conducted a case-control study of 718 non-Hispanic white patients with cutaneous melanoma from melanoma clinics in Philadelphia and San Francisco, and are completing analyses of the risk factors for melanoma and nevi. Investigators have also analyzed data on sunbed use and found that sunbed use is a significant risk factor for melanoma, after adjustment for all other UV exposure. Sunscreen use provided some protection, particularly in those most susceptible.
