Biography

Dr. Linh Bui-Raborn joined DCEG as a staff scientist in the Laboratory of Translational Genomics (LTG), in the research laboratory of Dr. Kevin Brown in September 2023.

Prior to joining the Brown lab, Dr. Bui-Raborn was a postdoctoral fellow in the Banovich Lab at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in Phoenix, Arizona. Her work at TGen utilized single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) to identify novel cell types involved in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), to construct a single-cell atlas in healthy and diseased lungs, and to characterize the cell types and molecular programs in disseminated appendiceal neoplasms. Dr. Bui-Raborn received her Ph.D. in molecular biology and genetics from the Biology Department at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Her doctoral research focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying asexual reproduction in the fern Ceratopteris richardii.

Research Interests

Dr. Bui-Raborn focuses her research on the identification and characterization of genetic variants contributing to cancer risks, specifically melanoma.
