Mark your calendars for the 2015 Radiation Epidemiology and Dosimetry Course, offered by the Radiation Epidemiology Branch, part of NCI's Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG). World renowned radiation experts will discuss basic principles and the most up-to-date thinking about the health effects of radiation exposure.
Course Components
May 18 - Understanding Statistical, Dosimetric & Genetic/Genomic Tools in Radiation Research
One-day session on current methodological tools used in radiation epidemiology, including genomic laboratory approaches, an introduction to R and other statistical tools for risk assessment, and new techniques for assessing dose in medical radiation studies.
May 19 - Basic Principles in Radiation Epidemiology, Dosimetry, and Statistics
One-day background session on radiation epidemiologic, statistical and dosimetric concepts. This component is intended for anyone who wants a refresher course and update on those topics or who has a limited background in radiation epidemiology.
May 20-22 - Radiation Epidemiology and Dosimetry: Concepts, Studies, and New Developments
Three-day in-depth training in radiation epidemiology. Training covers key studies and new developments with a full day each for:
- Radiobiology and genomics
- Environmental and occupational radiation epidemiology and dosimetry
- Medical radiation epidemiology and dosimetry
Panel discussions cover low dose radiation risks, views on cell phone risks, and other topics.
