Topic: Present Activities and Future Plans for the NHANES with Potential Opportunities for Collaboration

Description: The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) is a program of national representative surveys designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the United States. The survey is conducted every two years and is unique in that it combines in-person interviews, physical examinations and bio-specimen collection on a large probability sample of the US. The recruitment rate for the interviews and examination presently is about 70%. NHANES is linked to the National Death Index and to other data bases such as Medicare claims data.  The data from NHANES is available to the public either through the web or at Research Data Centers.

Hosts: Barry Graubard, Ph.D., Senior Investigator, Biostatistics Branch and Anil Chaturvedi, Ph.D., Investigator, Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch
