Development of an International Prostate Cancer Risk Tool Integrating Data from Multiple Heterogeneous Cohorts - Dr. Donna Ankerst DCEG Events
The Prostate Biopsy Collaborative Group (PBCG) collects prostate cancer risk factors and biopsy outcomes from multiple international centers with the objective to improve biopsy decision-making. The authors recently developed a global risk prediction model for outcomes on prostate biopsy, and posted it online for worldwide use. Construction of the logistic regression model required integrating data from 8492 biopsies from ten diverse centers across North America and Europe.

Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) Curves in their New Habitats - Albert Vexler DCEG Events
Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve based techniques are well-established tools in biostatistics for evaluating the ability of biomarkers to discriminate between populations.
The authors consider how ROC curve based organisms can reside in areas of p-values, statistical tests’ comparisons, compound test-statistics’ developments and measures of dependence between random variables with depicting complex structures of variables’ associations.
Naturalizing ROC curve-type entities, the authors assemble novel, correct and efficient mechanisms for testing and measuring procedures in various statistical frameworks
