This postdoctoral position is available within the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) of the U.S. National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. 

Stella Koutros, Ph.D., M.P.H., is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow with an interest in conducting integrative studies on the etiology of bladder cancer. This includes several studies with detailed data on environmental and occupational exposures as well as biological samples for characterization of germline genetic susceptibility and genomic analysis of bladder tumors using archived tissues. Many opportunities exist to integrate data on established risk factors, uniquely characterized environmental exposures, and germline genetic susceptibility to conduct integrative studies on etiology, disease heterogeneity, and mechanisms for bladder cancer. Access to core genomics facilities to develop new projects using large existing datasets is available.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a doctoral degree or be enrolled in a graduate degree program in epidemiology or related field (medicine, cancer biology, genomics, related biomedical sciences). Experience with research in observational studies or population genetics is desirable, but not required. Individuals with training in epidemiologic methods and biostatistics, strong quantitative skills, and excellent writing skills are encouraged to apply.
