Iris Kim, B.A., joined DCEG as a predoctoral fellow in the Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) in July 2026. She earned dual bachelor's degrees in neuroscience and medicine, health, and society from Vanderbilt University in 2021 and is currently a medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During her prior training, Ms. Kim completed a Fulbright research fellowship studying diasporic patterns of health and belonging in South Korea.

As a predoctoral fellow, Ms. Kim works under the mentorship of Michael Sargen, M.D., in the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB), investigating hereditary factors contributing to skin cancer development, including familial melanoma risk and Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome.
