Thomas O'Donnell joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Clinical Epidemiology Unit (CEU) of the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB) in July 2022. He graduated with a B.A. in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in 2013 and an M.P.H. with a concentration in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2022, both schools in Baltimore, Maryland. 

In CEU/CGB, he is currently building and validating absolute risk prediction models for ovarian cancer. In addition, he also is heading a project that deals with the Connect for Cancer Prevention study, for which he is investigating changes in biomarker levels due to different handling and processing procedures in blood specimens taken from cohort volunteers. His mentor is Nicolas Wentzensen, M.D., Ph.D., M.S., Deputy Director and senior investigator.
