Abigail Dennis joined the Laboratory of Translational Genomics (LTG) as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the laboratory of Kevin Brown, Ph.D. in September 2022. She earned a B.S. in biology with a minor in anthropology from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas in 2020, and an M.S. in biological sciences from North Dakota State University, Fargo, in August 2022. Her master's thesis centered around the context-dependent effects of temperature and parental behavior on growth, survival and telomere dynamics in house sparrow nestlings.
In LTG, Ms. Dennis is performing functional characterization of both common sequence variants and familial risk variants associated with melanoma at the 9p21 locus.
