Kadiatou Traore, B.S. joined DCEG as an NIH Medical Research Scholars Program Fellow in the Metabolic Epidemiology Branch, under the mentorship of Christian Abnet, Ph.D., M.P.H., in July 2024. She is investigating the association between Helicobacter pylori, gastric atrophy and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in Malawi using a case-control study. 

Prior to joining DCEG, Ms. Traore completed her third year of medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, New York, where she will be returning after her research year at the NIH. Ms. Traore earned her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Rochester, in 2019. She will complete her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in May 2026.
