Sarina Murray, Ph.D., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch (OEEB) in August 2025. She earned a Ph.D. in biomedical science (cancer biology) from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. During her doctoral training, Dr. Murray used forward genetic screens to identify mechanisms of drug resistance in uveal melanoma.
As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Murray works under the mentorship of Stella Koutros, Ph.D., M.P.H., investigating risk factors for bladder cancer, including genetic susceptibility markers associated with clinically relevant bladder cancer subtypes.
