Lorena Sandoval joined DCEG as a predoctoral fellow in the Trans-Divisional Research Program in August 2021. She earned a B.S. in biology at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia (2018), and an M.S. in biochemistry at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. (2020). Ms. Sandoval is currently working on a Ph.D. in computational biology at George Mason University. 

In TDRP, Ms. Sandoval is studying health disparities in cancer with a focus on policy interventions, using serverless architecture and data visualization. Her mentor is Jonas S. Almeida, Ph.D., Director of Data Science.
