Cancer and Non-cancer Risks among Medical Workers

Dr. Cari Kitahara presents an overview of cancer and non-cancer risks among medical workers, a large and growing occupationally-exposed group. Epidemiologic studies are needed to continue to inform/improve radiation safety guidelines for workers; to contribute to the understanding of the health effects of protracted, low-dose radiation; to evaluate lifetime health risks; and to conduct new studies of exposures and health risks from emerging, higher-dose procedures.
