Physical Activity, Obesity, and Diet and their Relationship with Cancer Risk, Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Steven C. Moore

Steven C. Moore, Ph.D., M.P.H., an Earl Stadtman investigator in the Metabolic Epidemiology Branch (MEB), is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or computer programming. 

This fellowship is designed to train fellows interested in becoming leaders in the research areas of physical activity, obesity, and/or diet. Possible roles include:

  • Analyzing how physical activity, obesity, and/or diet are related to risk of cancer in datasets of millions of people,
  • Discovering physical activity biomarkers by analyzing how objective measure of physical activity relate to levels of thousands of metabolites from blood and urine,
  • Developing new statistical analysis tools for ‘omics-based analyses as part of a collaboration with leading biostatisticians from around the world.

Qualifications

You should have, or expect to soon attain, a doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computer programming or related fields, analytical thinking skills, and the ability to learn new skills on the job.
