Jordan Aron, B.A., joined DCEG as a predoctoral fellow in the Biostatistics Branch. He is currently a third year Ph.D. candidate in the Biostatistics Department at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Mr. Aron earned his B.A. in mathematics from Carleton College, Northfield, Minneapolis, in 2018. From 2018 through 2021, Mr. Aron was a postbaccalaureate fellow in BB where he worked on applications of hidden Markov models in cancer research.

Under the mentorship of Paul S. Albert, Ph.D., senior investigator and Director of BB, he will work on the development of hidden Markov models for characterizing the heterogeneity of the wake cycle from intensively collected activity and light data. The methods will incorporate population heterogeneity in activity, light exposure, and the sleep-wake cycle to characterize the variation of these features across individuals.
