Yewon Kim, Ph.D.
Yewon Kim, Ph.D., joined DCEG in August 2026 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Biostatistics Branch (BB) under the mentorship of Tongwu Zhang, Ph.D., Stadtman investigator.
Dr. Kim earned a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her doctoral research focused on developing group-structured multiple testing methods for genetic data, with the goal of improving statistical power while controlling the false discovery rate.
In BB, Dr. Kim is developing novel statistical methods for analyzing mutational signatures that account for uncertainty in the downstream analysis. Her work aims to improve statistical power while reducing false-positive rates.
