Joycelyn Williams joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Biostatistics Branch (BB) in October 2024. Ms. Williams earned a B.S. in biology from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2023. Prior to joining DCEG, Ms. Williams worked at the NCI Center for Cancer Research in the Chemical Biology Laboratory, studying proteolysis targeting chimeras.

In BB, Ms. Williams is exploring somatic LINE1 retrotransposon insertions in blood as potential cancer biomarkers, developing a sophisticated bioinformatics pipeline to detect and analyze these genetic variations, under the mentorship/supervision of Dr. Tongwu Zhang.
