Bia Sajjad, B.A., joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Clinical Genetics Branch (CGB) in 2023. She is investigating genetic predispositions to marrow failures and examining the effects of both germline and somatic variants on disease outcomes, under the mentorship of Lisa J. McReynolds, M.D., Ph.D., assistant clinical investigator, CGB.
Prior to joining DCEG, Ms. Sajjad earned her B.A. degree in global public health and Spanish from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Her previous research experience involved public health genomics, disease prevention, and investigating healthcare disparities experienced by disadvantaged populations.
