Postdoctoral Fellow

Prema Bhattacharjee, Ph.D., M.P.H., joined DCEG as a predoctoral fellow in the Metabolic Epidemiology Branch in March 2024, and became a postdoctoral fellow in June 2024. In 2025, she transferred to the Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch (IIB).

Prior to joining DCEG, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at Maryland Oncology and Hematology and NEXT Oncology Virginia to assess and facilitate the initiation and completion of Phase I and II clinical trials, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate patient care. Dr. Bhattacharjee earned her Ph.D. in cancer epidemiology from the University of South Carolina, Columbia in 2024. Her doctoral research focused on understanding cancer grade and survival disparities among young adults diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, residing in South Carolina. 

In IIB, Dr. Bhattacharjee is conducting research on understanding early onset of risk factors for biliary tract cancers under the mentorship of Jill Koshiol, Ph.D.
