Ishita Singh, D.P.H., M.P.H., B.D.S., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in the Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch (IIB) in December 2023, as part of a joint dental public health fellowship with the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) and NCI. Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Singh worked at the NIDCR, focusing on examining the associations between disability types and untreated dental decay among U.S. adults. Dr. Singh completed her residency in dental public health from NIDCR in July 2023. She attained her M.P.H. from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, in 2021, after which she gained valuable experience as a researcher at Intermountain Healthcare. She earned her bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from the National Dental College, Punjab, India.  

In IIB, Dr. Singh is examining cancer risk and the burden of cancer among sexual and gender minority communities, under the mentorship of Sarah S. Jackson, Ph.D., M.P.H., Earl Stadtman investigator, IIB.
