Nyahne Bergeron, Ph.D., M.P.H. (she/her), joined DCEG in the Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch as a postdoctoral fellow in September 2024. She will be studying the social determinants of breast cancer disparities, primarily among African and African American populations under the mentorship of Jonine Figueroa, Ph.D., M.P.H.
Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Bergeron earned her Ph.D. in public health with a concentration in community health sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health in 2024. Her doctoral research examined how information-sharing among the social networks of African American women could be leveraged to promote breast cancer preventive behaviors. She also holds an M.P.H. in community health practice from DePaul University (2014) and a B.S. in biology from St. Xavier University (2007), both in Chicago, Illinois.
