Timothy Winter, Ph.D.

Timothy Winter is a postdoctoral fellow who joined the Laboratory of Genetic Susceptibility (LGS) in DCEG in March 2022. He earned a B.Sc. in cellular and molecular medicine and an M.Sc. in medicine, both at the University of Bristol, U.K. Dr. Winter completed his Ph.D. in medicine at Queens University Belfast, Ireland. In his doctoral program, his research focused on post- genome-wide association study (GWAS) functional characterization of breast cancer predisposition locus 14q24.1.

In LGS, Mr. Winter is involved in renal cancer GWAS and following post-GWAS functional characterization of the identified predisposition single nucleotide polymorphisms, under the mentorship of Stephen J. Chanock, M.D., Director, LGS.
