Katelyn E. Connelly, Ph.D., joined the Laboratory of Translational Genomics (LTG) in 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Laufey Amundadottir, Ph.D., senior investigator. Dr. Connelly earned her Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, in 2018 and her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, in 2013. She was a 2021 Sallie Rosen Kaplan Fellow and recieved a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence grant focused on improving in vitro pancreas cell models to assess the interplay of cellular environment with risk variants.

Dr. Connelly’s post-doctoral work is focused on uncovering the mechanisms through which of germline risk variants for pancreatic cancer influence cancer initiation or promotion, under the mentorship of Dr. Amundadottir.
