Seonyoung Park, Ph.D.
Seonyoung Park, Ph.D., joined DCEG in July 2026 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch (OEEB) under the mentorship of Laura Beane Freeman, Ph.D.
Dr. Park earned a Ph.D. in environmental health sciences from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Park’s doctoral research focused on gestational exposures to multiple classes of environmental chemicals, including phthalates, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). She examined their relationships with maternal biological pathways, including thyroid function, inflammation, oxidative stress, and lipid signaling, as well as child developmental outcomes.
In OEEB, Dr. Park is investigating occupational and non-occupational pesticide exposures and cancer risk. She is also conducting molecular epidemiologic studies to better understand the etiology and biological mechanisms underlying pesticide-related cancers.
