Fei Qin, Ph.D., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in the Biostatistics Branch (BB) in September 2023. Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Qin earned his Ph.D. in biostatistics from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, in 2023. During his doctoral studies, he made substantial contributions by advancing the methodologies used for copy number variation detection and the identification of spatially variable genes with single-cell sequencing data.
In BB, he will be working on statistical genetics, particularly, the analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data and its integration with genome-wide association study data, under the mentorship of senior investigators Kai Yu, Ph.D., and Jianxin Shi, Ph.D., in BB.
