Postbaccalaureate Fellow

Hasset Nurelegne, B.Sc., joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Clinical Genetics Branch in August 2024. She will be studying telomerase biology disorders such as Dyskeratosis congenita under the mentorship of Sharon Savage, M.D., and Kelvin de Andrade, M.Sc.

Prior to joining DCEG, Ms. Nurelegne was an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Anita Corbett’s lab at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, working on characterizing the impact of cancer-causing somatic missense mutations in genes encoding histones on histone function and molecular pathways. Ms. Nurelegne earned her B.Sc. in neuroscience and English from Emory University in 2024.
