Garrett Hendley, M.S., joined DCEG as a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch (ITEB), in September 2024. Prior to joining DCEG, Mr. Hendley worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), investigating the relationship between kidney stone disease and renal cell carcinoma. He earned a B.S. in cancer biology and an M.S. in multi-disciplinary biomedical sciences from UAB in 2024.  

In ITEB, Mr. Hendley is examining the interplay between various risk factors, tissue composition, and the tumor microenvironment in breast cancer, under the mentorship of Mustapha Abubakar, M.D., Ph.D.
