Xuan Cindy Li, Ph.D., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in the ITEB under the mentorship/supervision of Maria Teresa Landi, M.D., Ph.D., senior investigator, in February 2025. She will be studying the role of epigenetic changes in lung cancer in non-smokers as part of the Sherlock-Lung study. 

Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Li earned her Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, and genomics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2024. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Li worked as a predoctoral fellow at the Cancer Data Science Laboratory, where she investigated DNA methylation in tumor evolution and heterogeneity using algorithmic approaches under the co-supervision of S. Cenk Sahinalp, Ph.D., senior investigator in NCI's Center for Cancer Research, and Stephen M. Mount, Ph.D., associate professor at the University of Maryland (UMD), through the NCI-UMD Partnership for Integrative Cancer Research
