Ibrahim Hossain Sajal, Ph.D., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral ellow in the Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch under the mentorship of Diptavo Dutta, Ph.D., Earl Stadtman investigator, in January 2025. He focuses on identifying proteins as mediators of the effects of various risk factors on breast and kidney cancers. 

Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Sajal completed his master’s degree in applied statistics at the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, before earning his Ph.D. in data science and statistics at the University of Texas at Dallas. His doctoral research involved developing advanced statistical methods for rare haplotype association with multiple traits and building risk prediction models for contralateral breast cancer. Dr. Sajal’s research interests include cancer risk prediction, multi-Omics integration, and rare variant association with multiple traits.
