Postdoctoral Fellow

NCI Shady Grove | 7E-510

Haegin Han, Ph.D., joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in the Radiation Epidemiology Branch (REB) in October 2023. Dr. Han earned a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2023. Throughout her doctoral studies, she primarily focused on research to assess personalized radiation dose by deforming the posture and stature of the mesh-type computational human phantoms. As a member of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Task Group 103, Dr. Han is actively involved in the development and release of the mesh-type reference computational phantoms (MRCPs). For her Ph.D. dissertation, she developed a virtual dose calculation system for interventional radiologists.

In REB, Dr. Han is working on dose assessment for patients and medical staff during the procedures that involve radiography and fluoroscopy under the mentorship of Choonsik Lee, Ph.D., head of REB’s Dosimetry Unit.
