Utilization of patient information to investigate subtype heterogeneity of driver genes in cancer genome sequencing studies

Description

Identifying driver genes that drive cancer initiation and progression is essential for understanding mechanisms of carcinogenesis and designing therapeutic strategies. While cancer genomes are heterogeneous across patients, no method has been developed to investigate whether the sets of driver gene are distinct across cancer subtypes. We developed a statistical framework MutScot that utilizes patient information to investigate subtype heterogeneity of driver genes.
