Thi Van Trinh Tran, Ph.D., M.P.H., joined the Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch (ITEB) as a postdoctoral fellow in December 2024. After completing her training in pharmacy in Vietnam, she received master’s degrees in epidemiology and biostatistics (2018), and obtained a Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Paris-Saclay, France (2021). Her doctoral research focused on investigating the association between thyroid dysfunction and female breast cancer risk. Before joining ITEB, Dr. Tran was a fellow in the Radiation Epidemiology Branch, where she conducted research on thyroid cancer etiology and survivorship. Dr. Tran have received multiple awards, including the 2024 DCEG Fellows’ Award for Research Excellence, and Top Thyroid Cancer Paper of the Year 2024 from the American Thyroid Association.
In ITEB, Dr. Tran is working under the mentorship of Maria Teresa Landi, M.D., Ph.D., senior investigator, and Phuc Hoang, Ph.D., staff scientist, on using pathology and radiology data for risk classifications for lung cancer in never-smokers.
