Semi Zouiouich, Ph.D., joined the Metabolic Epidemiology Branch (MEB) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2021. Dr. Zouiouich earned a bachelor’s in microbiology and a master’s in epidemiology from the University of Lyon, France. He completed his Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Lyon at the International Agency for Research on Cancer. His doctoral research focused on investigating the relationship between the gut microbiome and colorectal cancer development using epidemiological approaches.
Dr. Zouiouich conducts methodologic studies of the microbiome and etiologic studies of the association of the microbiome with different cancer types under the mentorship of Rashmi Sinha, Ph.D., senior investigator, Emily Vogtmann, Ph.D., M.P.H., Earl Stadtman Investigator, and Erikka Loftfield, Ph.D., M.P.H., Earl Stadtman Investigator.
