Sander Roberti, Ph.D., joined DCEG in August 2024 as a postdoctoral fellow in the Radiation Epidemiology Branch (REB) and the Biostatistics Branch (BB). Prior to joining DCEG, Dr. Roberti earned his bachelor’s in mathematics and in physics and astronomy (B.Sc.), as well as his master’s in mathematics (M.Sc.), all from Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Following this, he performed his doctoral research at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, where he developed absolute risk prediction models for breast cancer among Hodgkin lymphoma survivors, incorporating the spatial distribution of radiation dose in the breast. 

In DCEG, Dr. Roberti is working on studies of radiation exposure following the Chornobyl nuclear reactor accident and modeling the natural history of thyroid nodules. His mentors are Elizabeth Cahoon, Ph.D. (REB), and Li Cheung, Ph.D. (BB).
