Current Openings
DCEG accepts applications for fellowships on a rolling basis; find out more on our application page.
The Division also periodically advertises opportunities for fellowships with specific researchers. These are not our only openings, so we strongly encourage you to visit our application page and contact investigators doing research in your area of interest. DCEG scientists are always on the lookout for new trainees.
Below are training opportunities organized by research group within our Division. In addition, there are a number of cross-cutting, interdisciplinary efforts--such as studies of health disparities--that are underway across DCEG. Explore our working groups to learn more about these efforts.
-
Biostatistics
Open positions for fellowships in the DCEG Biostatistics Branch. Work on developing statistical methods and data resources to strengthen observational studies, intervention trials, and laboratory investigations of cancer.
-
Clinical Genetics
Open positions for fellowships in clinical genetics at the DCEG Clinical Genetics Branch. Research includes family studies on RASopathies, Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS), Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes (IBMFS), DICER1/PPB, and others.
-
Data Science
Open positions for fellowships in data science at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Jonas Almeida, DCEG chief data scientist, is recruiting trainees to work on all aspects of epidemiology and genetic data science, Amazon cloud computing, GitHub, EpiSphere.
-
Infections and Immunoepidemiology
Open positions for fellowships in infections and immunoepidemiology at the DCEG Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch. Research includes transplant recipients, EBV, h. pylori, HPV vaccine and cervical cancer, HPV-associated head and neck cancer, and people living with HIV-AIDS. Also, descriptive epidemiology studies aimed at quantifying and explaining national and international trends in cancer incidence and mortality.
-
Integrative Tumor Epidemiology
Open positions for fellowships in integrative tumor epidemiology in the DCEG Integrative Tumor Epidemiology Branch. Research approaches include molecular pathology, somatic and germline genomics, and epidemiology to identify environmental and germline risk factors for cancer; risk factors and tissue profiling to inform prevention and clinical strategies.
-
Metabolic Epidemiology
Open positions for postdoctoral fellowships in metabolic epidemiology at the DCEG Metabolic Epidemiology Branch. Research includes studies of metabolomics, microbiome, lifestyle and dietary factors, energy balance, physical activity and sedentary behaviors.
-
Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology
Open positions for fellowships in occupational and environmental epidemiology. DCEG investigators study agricultural exposures, diesel exhaust, indoor and outdoor air pollution, drinking water contaminants, exposure assessment, toxic chemical exposures, and associated risk for cancer.
-
Radiation Epidemiology
Open positions for fellowships in the DCEG Radiation Epidemiology Branch. Trainees work with leading experts in dosimetry, medical radiation exposure, low-dose ionizing radiation.
-
Translational Genomics
Open positions for fellowships in the DCEG Laboratory of Translational Genomics. Train on new, integrated approaches to the study of the genetic basis of cancer and its outcomes.
