Sarah Jackson Selected for NIH Distinguished Scholars Program

Sarah Jackson, Ph.D., M.P.H., Earl Stadtman investigator in the Infections and Immunoepidemiology Branch, was selected for the 2023 NIH Distinguished Scholars Program.

The NIH Distinguished Scholars Program (DSP) aims to build a more inclusive community within the intramural research program (IRP) by facilitating the recruitment and career development of principal investigators who have a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the biomedical research workforce.

The program provides mentoring and other professional development activities that foster research and career success for each year’s cohort of investigators from diverse backgrounds.

Selection is competitive and a prestigious recognition of outstanding accomplishments both in scientific research and in promoting diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Jackson studies sex differences in cancer incidence and survival as well as cancer risk, screening, and outcomes.
