Office of Education in DCEG

The Office of Education staff oversee training and career development for all DCEG staff. Their responsibilities include designing and implementing ongoing educational programs, including seminars and lectures, as well as evaluating and implementing Division policies and practices for training and professional development.
The DCEG Fellowship Program offers postdoctoral, predoctoral, and postbaccalaureate fellowships, as well as paid summer internships. In keeping with the Division’s mission to train the next generation of cancer researchers, the Office of Education oversees fellow and summer intern recruitment, develops programming for these crucial early career stages, and supports the fellow community.
The Office of Education partners with fellows in many ways, including through the DCEG Fellows Committee (DFel). The DFel Committee is currently composed of two co-chairs, ten branch representatives, and four subcommittee chairs, all of which are fellows within DCEG. DFel meets monthly with the Office of Education staff to encourage fellows’ success, foster community building and professional development, and promote the interests of all individuals in the division.
