Brittny Davis Lynn Appointed Associate Director

Brittny Davis Lynn, Ph.D., M.P.H., has been appointed Associate Director for Scientific Management and Dissemination within the DCEG Office of the Director (OD).
In this new role, Dr. Davis Lynn will oversee the DCEG scientific review processes and direct all aspects of internal communication within the OD and DCEG. She will also oversee scientific knowledge dissemination through the communications team and manage requests for information on DCEG scientific and administrative activities, including high-profile scientific issues and Freedom of Information Act requests, among other activities. She will work with the other two Associate Directors to coordinate overall DCEG management. Amanda Black, Ph.D., Associate Director for Biological Resources, will continue to lead scientific and administrative activities that includes supervision of the Division’s vast set of biological specimens and the resources that support them. Hannah Yang, Ph.D., Associate Director for Scientific Operations, will continue to provide oversight of the Division’s scientific portfolio, personnel and workforce management, and operating budget.
Dr. Davis Lynn received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and completed her M.P.H. in epidemiology and biostatistics at the John Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was selected for a postdoctoral fellowship in the NCI Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program in 2015, joined DCEG as a postdoctoral fellow in 2016, and was promoted to Research Fellow in 2019. That same year, she was accepted into the inaugural class of the highly competitive NIH Independent Research Scholar Program. In 2020, Dr. Davis Lynn joined the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and was soon promoted to Supervisory Epidemiologist at the Center for Tobacco Products.
