, by Elise Tookmanian, Ph.D.

Marie-Josèph Horner

Marie-Josèphe Horner, Ph.D., was re-elected as the DCEG Women Scientist Advisor (WSA) Staff Scientist Representative in March 2023. Dr. Horner will serve her second 3-year term in this role, where she has focused on responses to COVID, the development of professional workshops like the series “Building conflict resiliency and collaborative work environments,” and co-hosting open forums for women scientists within the Division, among other activities.

The WSA committee was formed in 1993 with advisors from each intramural institute and center. The WSA aims to raise awareness of issues facing women scientists and to work towards improving women’s representation in the NIH faculty at all levels.
